  • Own Your Worth: Values, Purpose and Financial Well-Being
    PRESENTED BY UBS
UBS’s latest research found that the vast majority of women say they’ve reassessed what’s most important to them in the last three years— and they see financial engagement as critical to leading more purposeful lives. Join UBS in this engaging seminar that will delve into finding and activating your purpose, and how financial participation can help you achieve your goals in the short-term, long-term and beyond. This session will include an interactive activity to help you identify your purpose, shed light on UBS’s groundbreaking research on women & money and provide tactical takeaways for how you can own your worth and take— or expand your seat at the “money table.” Registration is required, limited seats.

  • Stories From the Surgical Front: A Look Inside Northwell Health Female Leadership

Women in surgery are gaining in numbers, but we still face implicit biases about our technical and leadership abilities, despite evidence supporting how we excel in clinical care and as leaders. Hear how Northwell Health is working to change the narrative and has made a long-term investment in female surgical leadership. We are reshaping the culture of surgery based on the foundations of collaboration and respect. Meet two of our surgical leaders who will share their personal stories of success and their ascent to leadership roles despite barriers in their paths. Lastly, we discuss exciting new targeted programs led by women and designed for female patients that are improving care and raising health.

  • Preparing for the Inevitable: Eldercare and Life Planning to Maintain Boundaries and Sanity

As the axiom goes “A son is a son until he takes a wife, a daughter is a daughter for the rest of her life."
Whether the result of bad planning, no planning, or the feigned incompetence of others, caregiving for older and younger family members disproportionately falls on women. Managing from crisis is not managing it is floundering. The key to maintaining control is accessing appropriate care services and knowledgeable legal counsel. Inadequate preparation can leave even the most loving family in financial and emotional ruin. Find out what you need to know about elder care, estate, and long-term care planning by attending this presentation.

  • Compassion Fatigue and Self-Care

Workshop will cover the mind and body's cumulative response to stress, the dimensions of compassion, and how that potentially leads to residual burnout. Speakers will discuss the concept of compassion fatigue and more specifically how that relates to women and individuals who take on multi-layered responsibilities, across work, family, and community lines. We will highlight the personal story of a healthcare leader and encourage audience participation through an interactive experiential calling upon attendees' areas of compassion fatigue and over-extension, as well as supportive ways to rebuild, repair, and prevent cumulative stress reactions. Workshop will end with a breathing and sound healing exercise.

  • Inclusive Leadership: The Power of the Authentic Leader to Empower Teams

Led by Valley’s Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer Tammy Garnes Mata and Director of Women in Business Dorothy Kahlau, this session will focus on the connection between inclusive leadership and highly effective teams in various contexts. We will focus on how to leverage your authenticity and humanity to create equitable relationships and to build stronger, more effective teams. We will also provide tips and tools to empower the people around us, collaborate effectively, and tap into the skills and talent of individuals, so that we obtain the best outcomes.
